show singe post from specific category in sidebar

  • I am working on a site for a new band and would like to make the most recent post in a specific category (live shows) appear in the sidebar so it is easy to find.

    Would be great if it would ONLY appear in the sidebar and not with the rest of the blog posts as well.

    Any thoughts on how to achieve this?
