When I go to edit pages in the WordPress Admin Panel, I am unable to edit and nothing shows up in the edit box for any of my published pages. Also, the buttons do not work for ‘Screen Options’ and ‘Help’ when on the Edit Page. I have tried different browsers but get the same result in Chrome, Firefox, and I.E.

I have tried re-installing WordPress, that didn’t help at all. All plugins and themes have been updated to the latest versions. I am running Sweetdate and Sweetdate Child themes.

I’m not sure what could be causing this. It seems to have started after updating to WP 4.5.3. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Try deactivating all plugins. If that resolves the issue, reactivate each one individually until you find the cause.

If that does not resolve the issue, try switching to the Twenty Sixteen theme to rule-out a theme-specific issue (theme functions can interfere like plugins).

Thanks for the tip James, I had forgotten about that. It turned out to be my theme. I deactivated the theme, then re-activated, the problem is gone.

    You’re welcome!

When I go to edit pages in the WordPress Admin Panel, I am unable to edit and nothing shows up in the edit box for any of my published pages. I have a mac with OS 10.6.8. and I use Safari. I can do some editing with Firefox. My wife’s computer is new and has the newest OS and seems to work fine on it. I have tried deactivating the plugins and it does not seem to help. Any ideas, I still would like to use Safari.
