• None of my embedded youtube videos are working on my site. Is there a reason why this would happen? How would I fix it. THey were working up until at least last week.

  • How exactly are you embedding the videos?

    Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the default theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

    – re-uploading all files & folders – except the wp-content folder and wp-config.php & root .htaccess files – from a fresh download of WordPress. Make sure that you delete the old copies of files & folder before uploading the new ones.

when I go into the edit page, there used to be a tab between add media and marketing in the visual editor that said add element. that is where I added both the youtube video player and an opt-in code to my blog. both the embedded videos and the opt-in are just appearing as code, not the actual item.

Sounds like you were using a plugin for this instead of WordPress’ native embed. You need to identify exactly which plugin you were using and then post in that plugin’s dedicated forum via its page in the Plugin Repository.

I have no idea if it was a plug in or not. all I know is there used to be 3 buttons over the edit window when I would go in to edit the page. the first button says “add media” the second button said “add element” and the thrid button says “marketing”. The “add media”and “marketing” buttons are still there, but the “add element” button is gone.

What you describe is not part of WordPress by default. Neither “add element” nor “marketing”. So I can only assume that this was part of a plugin or perhaps part of your theme. What theme are you using?

can i look somewhere to see if a plug in was deleted ?

Um – not if the plugin has already been deleted, no.
