5 or 6 second pause before actual checkout?

    I’ve tested this plug-in both in sandbox and production modes, and in both cases, when I click “Place Order”, the checkout page is grayed out and there’s a 6 second pause, THEN I can see a progress bar in my browser’s URL field and finally something seems to happen and within 2 seconds I get a confirmation of my order.

    Any idea where that 5 to 6 second pause comes from and how to eliminate it?

    Here’s what the console says when the browser pauses:

    Note that this is a staging server and I’m using the server IP as the URL, no domain name, no SSL.

    This forum entry helped me realize that the issue was with the emails being sent by Woocommerce to the customer upon checking out. I temporarily disabled the email notifications and the checkout now takes 2 seconds as expected.
