    Hi i have created wordpress multisite using subdirectory method.I can see the sites menu and network admin menu.However when i create any subsite it does get created but under sites menu the link name is blank.So all all get is 2 sites under sites menu one primary site whose name appears proper.but the second one i.e subsite the link is blank.I can hover over it and navigate inside it to open submenu but title is blank.Seems a css issue.i am using swell lite theme for primary site and twentyfifteen theme for subsite

    Any help will be appreciated as i am stuck here.

    Have you tried going to Network Admin–Sites–All Sites, then hover over one of your subsites, and click edit. Then go to the Settings tab, and see if anything is entered under Blogname? Is it blank there?

    Hi Bet thanks for your inputs and sorry for replying late.
    yes the blogname did conatined a valid name.After days of searching i found that the issue was the encoding which was mentioned in wp-config file.
    originaly it was set to define(‘DB_CHARSET’, ‘utf8mb4’);
    Due to this WordPress was not able to create necessary multisite tables for given subsite eventhough it created subsite on UI front.Changed that to utf8 encoding like define(‘DB_CHARSET’, ‘utf8’) and it worked like a charm.

    Could you please explain more clearly how you resolve this an issue. I have the UTF-8 encoding from begining, but still having this problem.

    In advance thank you for your help. I could not find how to fix this problem for looooong time. Really don’t know what else to do .

    Griga_M, it sounds like you have a different issue, although the symptoms are the same. Can you please submit your own fresh support ticket (per forum guidelines)?
