False notification of sales order

  • Woocommerce recently put through a sales order using the Stripe gateway but it never went through although it told me it had. I didn’t double check with my stripe account (I know my bad) and I sent out the order. Luckily it was only a small order but why did this happen?

    Any thoughts appreciated.

  • @Punk100UK- As far as I know, WooCommerce registers an order as soon as we click on “Place Order” button on the Checkout page though as the payments involve a 3rd party, many a times the payment might not actually go through. In such a case, the order status is either pending or on-hold. So, you should watch out the order status in backend before processing them through.
