I’m moving to a new theme (going to ‘Get Noticed’) which calls out that it supports PowerPress. When I copied the old site to the temp server and then activated the new theme, the Powerpress fields with the audio files don’t appear in the new theme.

It looks like Powerpress is not installed but it is when I look at installed plugins — it shows as ‘activated’.

    Any ideas?

    I’m stuck ..

It’s possible some of the PowerPress files didn’t copy over properly. I’d suggest deactivating PowerPress, deleting any existing PowerPress files then reinstalling the plugin. If the PowerPress information is still in the database, everything should come back as expected.

I went through the following steps ..

    1) Deactivated and then reactivated — no change.
    2) Deactivated then deleted the files then re-installed the plugin and activated it — no change

I’ve heard back from the Theme guys and they helped with using the “Not working” option in Powerpress to get the player to appear. That is now working.

What I’m still missing is the plugin fields when creating/editing the post.

The current site is working fine but the same options/fields do not appear in the new site.

I have no way to edit existing or add new shows using the Powerpress plugin ..

    Any ideas?

On your existing posts, there should be a small box somewhere underneath the main blog post called Podcast Episode with a checkbox called “Modify existing podcast episode.” Clicking the checkbox should open up the original podcast episode post so you can modify it. Are you not seeing this option?

Also, try going to PowerPress >> Settings, Advanced Mode >> Episodes and make sure there are checks next to all of the necessary boxes. Save changes if needed.

I do NOT see the “Modify” nor do I see the fields when creating a “new post” ..

I went in to “episodes” in Powerpress and it matches what is in the original site. I went ahead and added one of the options and “saved” it.

Still nothing … yet the audio files appear in each post.

You can see them at: https://e6c.d41.mwp.accessdomain.com/ (temp site)

I have sent a message to the lead developer of PowerPress to check on this situation. He’ll respond here as soon as he can.

Here’s a couple things to consider trying in the meantime.

1.) Clear your browser cache, just in case.
2.) Switch the WordPress site to the default 2016 theme and see if the Podcast Episode box comes back. If it does, then there may be an issue with the theme.

Fixed the problem … for some reason, under the “Screen Options” tab, it didn’t have “Podcast” checked.

Checked it — and now everything is working fine.

Wow. Thanks for the update, Phil. That’s a new one to me. Something I hadn’t even considered. Will keep that in mind for the future!
