Wouldn't update and then wouldn't delete

Plugin was not updating, had to get someone to manually update it then the plugin was causing fonts loading in bold then back to regular (looked really poor) so I tried to disable then delete in order to reinstall and try again but then it would not delete. Really weird it would time out and say that my site could not handle the request.
I had to hire someone to manually delete it (from the server I think).
This plugin worked well at one point and would love to use it again, but I don’t want to have to pay someone to remove it if I try again and it doesn’t work ??
