Permalink / rewrite troubles

  • I’m having a heck of a time trying to use mod_rewrite to make my permalinks nicer.

    In the codex it seems like there’s some feature in WP to automatically generate the .htaccess with mod_rewrite directives in it, but I’m unable to find it. There doesn’t seem to be anything in the permalink settings like that.

    WP is installed at /wp, and I’m trying to get URLs like /wp/category, /wp/postname, and /wp/pagename. Possible? Help?

  • Are you using WP 2.5.1? If you are then go to SETTING >> PERMALINKS and put the following where it says “Custom Structure”:

    /%category%/%postname%/
