Changed URLs and now can't login!

    Hi, Please help. I’m trying to help a friend change their domain name but I don’t have much wordpress experience and cannot get back into their WP admin.

    While last logged in to it at https://zpaintingcv.com/wp-admin/
    … in Settings > General > I changed both the wordpress and site URLs from zpaintINGcv.com (old) to zpaintERScv.com (what we want now), then saved it.
    The next time I tried to log in to the same wp-admin page (https://zpaintingcv.com/wp-admin/), I get the error message:

    The site can’t be reached
    zpainterscv.com’s server DNS address could not be found.
    Search Google for zpainterscv login
    ERR_NAME_NOT_RESOLVED

    Note also how the error is now reflecting zpaintERScv and not zpaintINGcv.

    Meanwhile when I visit the live site at zpaintingcv.com, it looks awful, the layouts all messed up.

    Please, please help. How do I get back into wp-admin page to add least return the URLs to what they were before? Thanks in advance.

    Thanks esmi. I do not have any kind of coding experience and have only done simpler things on wordpress like update pictures and text, so please bear with me:

    So in the link you sent me, it looks like I have (4) options but I stil don’t understand how to do any of them. Can you help me with the questions in bold:

    1) Edit wp-config.php… Can you tell me how to access this without loggin in?
    2) Edit functions.php… I don’t think they have it on a FTP site.
    3) Relocate method… Same as #1, How do I access this option without logging in?
    4) Changing the URL directly in the database… Where to I access phpmyAdmin? Is this something separate I have to download and sign up for?

    I’d suggest going for Option 2: the functions.php method.

    You will need to use FTP (or use whatever file management application your host provides) to navigate to wp-content/themes/your_currently_active_theme.

    Hi Esmi, Just wanted to come back and say thanks so much. It still took me a few hours to figure out the FTP instructions but everything’s now working again. I appreciate the help!

    I have the same issue. I changed the URL address and also another field in settings – general. Now I can’t sign in. you suggestion requires being able to sign in and I can’t

    I change from squareinchclean.com to squareinchclean2.com hoping to free up squareinchclean.com so it could be linked to my GoDaddy hosting until my WP sight is done. Now when I type in the domain I get a WP signon but can’t sign in, it says server not found.

    Any help would be great!

    I’m not sure how similar my problem is with you guys, but it seems as though I can’t log into WordPress after I changed my domain name as well. Every time I try to log in it says invalid username or email, which is probably why I haven’t been receiving an admin url through email.

    I’ve tried uninstalling and installing WordPress through Cpanel numerous times, but I am not sure if I’m making it worst.

    Hi Guys, I faced same issue today when I switched my website to a new domain but i fixed it.
    In my case, I had an entry in my hosts file conflicting the name of my new domain and it was blocking the url to be resolved.
    I removed the host entry and the new URL is accessible now.

    I changed my url in the general settings, I do not have access to my host information, how do I get my site back?

    Can someone help me with my account please?! I recently changed my URL and now it won’t let me log into WP admin to change it back. Believe me I have tried EVERYTHING!     I changed the name servers from the ones provided my host to Cloudflare and got it activated. SSL was included.

    I went to WordPress Admin Dashboard, and then Settings and changed the website and site URl to https://domain-name.co from https://domain-name.co

    Tried visiting my site – with https://domain-name.co and couldn’t get in. Similarly couldn’t get inside WordPress Admin Dashboard https://domain-name.co/wp-admin.

    Cleared the cache, and now able to access the website using https. But yet not able to access the WP Admin Dashboard.

    Tried using http again, but still didn’t get in. The error shows that the redirect is happening multiple times.

    Can someone please help me on what to do to rectify the error.
