  • Hi Lizzy,
we have some instructions for how to set up the Firewall on host without .user.ini support. Can you have a look and see if it helps?

I don’t have access to PHP Variables Manager on my host. I use x10 Hosting free version. They don’t allow any adjustments to php.ini files and I don’t have access to PHP Variables Manager. Unless that’s phpMyAdmin under a different name.

Having the same issue as @lizzy Gracemount & would be grateful for any ideas? Thanks.

Unfortunately the Firewall needs a server variable to be set in order to function to it’s fullest extent. If the default installation process does not work and you can not use modified versions of .user.ini/htaccess or php.ini and you do not have access to PHP variables manager you can still run the Firewall with Basic protection. What you are missing out on is primarily the loading sequence of the Firewall. With extended protection the Firewall loads before any other code loads on your site and is thus able to intercept attacks before they have a chance to do damage.

Okay, thank you for your time. I’ll have to make due with basic protection.
