Tighten up how posts listed in widget

I have used List Category Posts to display a list of posts on the home page: it does it exactly as I wish. But I want to condense the vertical space of the lists, probably by removing the lines. The home page needs to show ALL the posts, at least in the first category — I know this seems impractical but it is vitally important. Can you suggest the best way to achieve this in a more compact fashion. I am happy to customise the CSS if you can tell me how. If we can get this working I promise I’ll donate. ;-p
