• Hey all.

Windows Live Writer is amazing, great, but I am now using custom fields on my blog for images and thumbnails etc.

Has anyone actually happened upon a plugin for windows live writer that allows you to specify the custom fields at all? Its a total pain having to publish a post but then log into the admin to specify 2 strings of text.

Any thoughts or help would be amazing ??

    David

  • I don’t have the answer, but I have a work-around (that I use for similar reasons).

From the WLW toolbar, under “Save Draft” is the option to “Post Draft and Edit Online.”

I write most posts in WLW, then I use that option. It opens a browser tab to the WP Edit Post page with my post loaded up. I make my final adjustments, check my preview, etc. and then Post.

Thanks, that is a good tip for now… was just hoping that was a plugin ?? sniff

i used blogdesk its free not as sophisticated as windows live writer but has support for custom fields..

sorry my earlier post might be a been off topic. just my two cents. here is the link link

Just been in contact with the developer of BlogDesk, the link spacetolive offers, and it does support WP 2.7, should anyone be interested. I’m just posting this up because it’s exactly what I’m after and WLW still doesn’t support custom field support, as of end of Jan 2009.
