• Since that last WordFence update, I suddenly have four unknown files, where none have ever appeared before:

    wp-admin/includes/last_update.txt
    wp-admin/includes/test-file.php
    wp-admin/includes/class-fud.php
    wp-admin/includes/file-outside.php

    All yield the same warning:

This file is in a WordPress core location but is not distributed with this version of WordPress. This is usually due to it being left over from a previous WordPress update, but it may also have been added by another plugin or a malicious file added by an attacker.

What do I do? Ignore, delete, something else?

wp-admin/includes/class-fud.php has recently appeared in my site. With the exact same warning from Wordfence. Could I ask what you did to resolve?

    Thanks

I deleted all four and it did not break anything. All was well after that. So I guess I did the right thing. They have not appeared agains since.
