I can't update WordPress or add Plugins

  • I’m having trouble with updating WordPress and adding Plugins. It just says:

    Downloading update from https://downloads.www.ads-software.com/release/nl_NL/wordpress-4.6.zip…

    I tried disabling all plugins and checking permissions on folders. It’s all good, no results.

    Looking at the chrome console it reports back:

    POST https://site.com/wp-admin/update-core.php?action=do-core-upgrade net::ERR_INCOMPLETE_CHUNKED_ENCODING

    But unfortunately I can’t find anything usefull based on that.

    What I noticed is that a plugin like WangGuard trying to execute Ajax calls (in it’s Wizard) is having trouble as well.

  • This sounds like it could be a server issue. Have you spoken to your hosts about it?

    I have. There is nothing they can find that is out of the ordinary.

    Try checking your site’s error logs for messages. Your hosts should be able to help you accessing your site’s error logs.
