Using WP as a news CMS system?

Hi there,

Apologies if this has already been mentioned in a previous post or is entered into the wrong category.

I have a site and I wish to make the index page my news page basically. The wordpress script is not installed on the main site it is installed as a subdomain. However I would like to include some of the contents of my blog page in my main site index.

Can this be done?
