Home page customizations lost

  • I navigated to a website I built for my mom’s work and noticed that ALL the home page customizations I’d made in my child theme were lost. I hadn’t noticed any change before that by doing updates to the Appointment Theme. I’m wondering if anyone else has experienced this and knows what happened. Luckily, I had a local version saved from when I initially built it so fixing the home page customizations weren’t terrible, but I’d rather this NOT happen in the future because I had no idea until I decided to randomly check on it. Everything from my Child Theme customizations were still in tact which is why I’m so confused. I had quite a few updates to plugins and themes pending, so I’m wondering if one of those caused it, but like I said, Appointment theme updates in the past haven’t affected it because of my child theme. So I’m wondering if it has something to do with a plugin. Anyone know of plugins that cause this error?

    I do have this annoying alert saying that I need to Update/Install Admin Builder Plugin because of some other plugins I have activated, but they work fine without it.

    Please help!

    If you do any code in the child theme and child theme update When you have the code , they will be lost your complete code

    and if you update other plugin then no anyone problem in your theme.

    I don’t think I understand your reply. I made changes to the theme within the theme customization interface and those were the changes lost, NOT my CSS customizations.

    If you made any change with customization panel then that will not be lose at the time of theme update.

    May be this a plugin conflict kindly check with deactivate plugin one by one and test.

    The content which you have added via customizer settings will not be lost. But you will loose core file changes that you have directly done in theme after updating parent theme.

    After updating parent theme the editing done from child theme will remain intact.

    Let me know if you change core directly in the parent theme. Also which part you loose after update and at the same time did you update any other plugin along with theme update. From which version you have updated to the latest version of the theme.
