• I installed the latest version of WordPress on my site today.. went through all the steps and then used my browser to initiate the script. It took me to the “setup” screen where it asked for the Blogs Name and E-Mail address. I did this.. and then clicked on the next step where it should have given me a password, etc. I got the header and nothing more than a blank screen. When I tried to go back and do it again, it told me that WordPress was already installed to empty the tables on my DB. I did.. reloaded it.. and get the same thing over and over again.

I hope I am clear on this. .but if not.. just let me know. Anyone know what to do??? I use Firefox, but also tried Explorer. The same in both.

    Help!!! ??

  • Who’s your host? What kind of OS (linux/unix/windows) and web-server?

    Hi Michael..

The server is a linux server with all the requirements for running the script. My host is https://osmnetworks.com/ which I have used for years. Never a problem before. Your help would be appreciated.

I’ve had that happen on a few installs. When it hangs at the 2nd page, usually it stores the blog address as example.com/install/step?
    or something like that.
Try navigating to your main page – what happens?

You can look at the db thru phpmyadmin and see what url and home values are stored. Here is a guide:

    to change password

    Hi Samboll..

No matter what I did, ie: reloading the script to my site (several times), emptying the database tables, and re-initializing it.. it still hangs on that page. I can go to the public view of the blog and it shows that it is there. Of course I can’t log in because I don’t know my password. I also tried to use the “Lost Password” option.. but get an error on that when it comes up. I will try your suggestion.. not a guru by any means.. so messing with my DB is kinda scary..

Thanks Samboll… I did as you suggested, and for now, things are well. I have been able to login and will now attempt to set the blog up.
