Way, way too complicated for what it does

  • The developers of this system seem to think that the only thing you want to do with your website is import CSVs. This plugin may work… I don’t know, I didn’t get that far. They force you through about a 10 step process to get to the end and I lost patience when the system threw me into maintenance mode.

    It is one of the most bloated, self-indulgent, and incomprehensible plugins I’ve ever used: kind of like irradiated, mutated Joomla component.

    That said, I’m struggling to find a plugin that works, so I may be forced to come back to this one. If I do, I’ll be very unhappy. It’s so overkill.

    Thank you for trying CSV 2 POST.

    Firstly, I did not “force” you through anything, very strong word to use when our software does not actually force anything. I want to make that very clear, not for argumentativeness but to mention the fact that the multiple steps in CSV 2 POST are optional. (versions 6.7.3 and before). I mention the version because today a new interface was added with an optional step by step system so now users can use one approach or the other.

    The minimum requirements is 5-6 steps/form submissions. Then click a button to create posts. All the other stuff is offered in a sandbox approach so users can use what they need, ignore the rest. Those who want to make money from a website usually use most screens.

    I would be keen for you to try version 6.7.4 released today. Use the new “Easy CSV Importer” screen designed for anyone who does not need the sandbox designed interface and needs something a little more straight to the point. It is a step by step system but all one page, very basic forms and the overall process is quick.

    I also thank you for using our plugin and would like to request you to try the new Easy CSV Importer screen. It is in beta but you’ll get the idea of what we are trying to accomplish whatever happens.

    I think there is an issue with it. Ryan will be on that no doubt.

    Version 6.9.2 has just been released.

    In response to you feeling the plugin is too complicated. We have half the number of features it has and reduced it to the Quick Start screen which is step by step. It simply means a far more simple plugin and all the stuff people need to create blogs that make money are in the premium edition. Good decisions really.

    We have a one of sale for May to push the new version which will also deliver the new free edition. We are confident your going to like it and would appreciate you reviewing it again.
