[Plugin: Add From Server] Suggestions for Add-From-Server

    I’m in the progress of moving my site from WP 2.0 to WP 2.5 and after some searching found your Add From Server 1.3.2 plugin. Thanks. But I have a couple of suggestions:

    (1) The Toggle All does not appear to work. I’m using FireFox 2.0.

    (2) When you add something, it does not move the files which is good [ if they are in uploads/2008/04 for example ] but it does not place them in the WP database with the correct dates either. Sure wouljd be nice if it would place them in April 2008 if the path ended in 2008/04. I have a pile of media organized properly, and want to add them, as I need to with the correct dates.

    Could you please write a detailed description of what the plugin does and how to use it? It seems simple, but I was confused at first about where to find the plugin panel – expected it to operate in the management pages rather than the media panel. I assumed it would import all my media at once or something.

    Also not sure whether it copies files or not. And not sure whether they can be anywhere within the uploads folder or can be elsewhere on the server.

  • From the plugin description it says “‘allows you to browse the filesystem on the webserver and copy any files into the WordPress uploads system” so I’d guess you need to use something like Filezilla to upload all your ‘files’ to your hosting account, then this plugin will allow you to browse those files when using them in a post (access via Media tool bar).
