Waste of time

Rather than just leaving a 1 star review have you considered posting a support request?

I did consider it, but after reading other reviews complaining about the lack of support and rudeness of replies, I decided it probably wasn’t worth the bother.

It looks to me like one of those plugins where the free version is very limited, in order to force you to buy the paid version. Now I don’t object to paying for something good, and rewarding those who have made it, but it’s the apparent dishonesty of this approach that upsets me.

I have to say when I read this type of comments I’m on the edge of just abandoning all work on my free plugins and themes.

The plugin offers everything for free and the 2 add-ons only provide a *skin* and some presets and they’re both cheap, mind you. But all of the functionality is in the base plugin and if you read the documentation provided you could easily recreate any preset you wanted from the list.

Now, I’d like to know how this is “very limited” and how it is “forcing” you to buy the paid version. How could I offer anything less in the premium add-ons that is not a skin or some presets? The only thing below that is donations.

I also like how apparently I don’t provide support (while 90% of the support threads are answered) and that I am really rude in my replies but it’s completely acceptable and polite to claim that the plugin doesn’t offer what it says and that it is “forcing” people to buy the add-ons, which is completely untrue and lacks any evidence.

I really hope not. This review and the reply just demonstrates that this 1 star is not warranted.

Here’s why.

I decided it probably wasn’t worth the bother.

When someone takes the time to work with the author and post questions to the support forum then that really shows good intentions.

When someone just takes the time to post a 1 star review and just doesn’t bother with much else then people reading that review can decide what it’s worth.

Try not to let it get you down. You can’t please everyone. ??

Yeah, don’t worry. I was being rhetorical. I’m not really considering abandoning my plugins just for 1 or 2 bad reviews, I know better. I have thousands of active users to worry about, a random person whining on a free product won’t change that ??

I’m just flabbergasted sometimes at how misinformed some people can be and yet be certain at the same time without even some basic fact checking.
