So much ooooh
-
Recently I came across this theme and wondered why it felt so familiar? Part of it being the fact it is using Hybrid Core; the other because I actually reviewed it!
Yes. I did a theme review. Crazy, I know. But that’s beside the fact. Sort of. And now I’m just trailing off.
Now, when I first installed this theme I was a little skeptical only because I’m not a huge fan of the color scheme. I’m not sure what it is about it but it is a trivial thing. The next thing I noticed was the use of a masonry style look. I’ve grown oh so tired of this look but for some reason I really love the look on this theme. I think part of it could be because it is a subtle look, or the way it only is two columns wide making it rather easy on the eyes to read.
The one part that really stood out the most was the footer.
Yeah, it does sound a little strange but it is true. Well, the theme settings to be exact. When you are on the admin side and you click on the theme settings you get taken to a page that resembles a new post page.
Don’t be scared. It’s not going to break unless you try really, really hard. I tried.
Now the cool part about this is that you can put just about anything you want in here. Code, photos, videos, a cat. Okay, maybe not an actual cat but you get the idea.
Here is the even neater part of this theme. Believe it or not it has a –queue drumroll– slider! Yeah. That is does. A little crazy, right? Yes, seem to be just about all the rage but with very few looking good with a theme.
At least for me. What I do like is how it is used/implemented. By default it is turned off and you can choose what category you want the slider to use or it will use the three most recent sticky posts.
One of the things I like about it is the simplicity. If the post has a featured image it will use that for the image or it will use a default one. Pretty straightforward I think.
