Not What's Promised

I’ve never been able to get all of its features to work at once, but was happy just to get the basics…the capability to let my site’s members upload graphics and video. Unfortunately, something happened with an upgrade and now that doesn’t even work. I’ll click on Media and get nothing but a block of text that used to be the commands to upload, edit, etc. no interface whatsoever.
My research for a solution has been in vane. I can’t understand the language used to describe solutions, is targeted to programmer types and is inconsistent in its terminology. Articles I’ve read from others is equally discouraging! It seems I’m in the same boat as a lot of other people.
