Help with New Template (sidebars not going away)

  • I am trying to create a new template for a page with a simple flash slideshow. I cannot seem to make anything disappear. For instance, I want to get rid of the sidebar information on this page. I can’t seem to make this happen.

    I have created a file called portfolio.php, my new template, with all of the information from page.php except for the <?php get_sidebar(); ?> line, but it still shows up.

    Could it have to do with the fact I am running the K2 theme?

  • I’m no hero in this, but my guess is that your slideshow doesn’t use the portfolio.php, but simply the index.php. When you go to “manage” and the page (I suppose) that will be your slideshow, what does it say with “page template”, “default” I suppose?
    If that’s not it, it’s beyond me…

    It says “portfolio”, not “default”.
