Maybe the premium work, but the free version doesn't
-
I had opened a question for the wordpress seo Yoast team here relating to a possible regression defect and nobody has even responded…
From their site it brings me back here in a loop…
It seems like I truly have hit a dead end with wordpress seo by yoast from the very beginning with this issue by simply using this free plugin!Using this plugin without some kind of basic support from developers is a risk i no longer can take, while things work everything is fine, but if something breaks, then the site using such plugin, could loose the Google rankings overnight!
Loosing Google rankings may not be serious for the developers of the plugin, over the concept of support is only provided to premium users, but is enough reason for me to decide and look at the alternatives!
From all the reports i’m seeing here in the forum, there are issues with both versions of the plugins, and to use the free version of this plugin, it seems often you either have to be programmer or coder and contribute to the fix yourself or I suspect one has to buy the premium version of the plugin… either way, nobody has responded to my query, so it gives me no option other then go elsewhere.
I have found a premium alternative plugin ($27 dollars), developed by a smaller team, which seems to be much more detailed for SEO purposes then wordpress seo currently is, one thing i know for sure, this plugin won’t break my site SEO in the future, if plugin goes wrong, as it simply helps you optimize the posts to reach the necessarily Google SEO standards, it won’t ever break anything, plus i can turn it off once my content has been SEO.
IMO, customer service is pivotal for the success of a growing business, we are all potential customers, for someone to tell me because I’m not a paying customer (and companies as they become bigger often forget about this, over keeping the shareholders pockets full), that you have no responsibility in fixing a problem which you have caused, will only ensure that you have lost me forever as a customer, not only that I certainly will never be able to recommend your service to anyone else in the future, what you should think is, remember there is a lot of competition out, I’m sure will be able to offer a better service, IMO, the wordpress seo team should consider hiring someone, to monitor(round the clock) and respond to related plugin questions posted in this forum, maybe just think of it as another sales channel!
If you drop the ball I certainly see an opportunity coming in this competitive market!
