We feel terrible that your experience has been such. This is neither normal nor part of our plan. And we sincerely apologize. Actually, we would immensely appreciate more feedback. User experience is important to us. The upgrade trigger is not set to go off every 20 seconds, as that would be detrimental and obtrusive to the user experience. We’d love to better understand what you saw that led to your comment. Could you send more information over to [email protected]?
For transparency, inside of free accounts, there is a upgrade pop-up that appears after initial login or session start within the ContactUs.com admin panel. Separately, there is also an upgrade pop-up when then screen has been idled for a set period (30 seconds), but that is capped at 1 per session.
As I understand it, the only other times the upgrade pop-up appears is when a free user interacts with a premium feature that is available only when you upgrade (for example, remove ContactUs branding, set appointments). We would like to know if you saw the pop-up outside of these parameters, and we’d gladly review our triggers.
Also, the free version is used by tens of thousands of users. I’m sorry that you didn’t find it to your liking, and we understand you are entitled to your opinion. But we also take pride in our work. We don’t feel that is a fair characterization that the free version isn’t usable. The free version of our platform is packed with features for contact forms, lead-capture and lead management that would normally require a small business to the hire web developers and programmers to get only a small fraction of the overall functionality of our platform.
Kind Regards and awaiting your email,
Juan F. Aguilar
