    Hi @markor91,

Thanks for using NextGEN Gallery Optimizer, and I’m sorry to hear you’re having difficulties on your specific setup/configuration.

If you’d like to post a link to your site (a specific page you’re seeing this behavior on would be great), I’d be happy to take a look for you.

    Cheers,
    Mark.

I activated the plugin and configured its backend to skip loading nextgen styles and scripts. The plugin doesn’t work as it supposed to.

    Here is the website

The gallery is styled by nextgen styles and it is loaded in the page. Currently I removed your plugin.

    Hi @markor91,

There appears to be some confusion here.

I’ve just looked at your link, and you’ve pointed me to a NextGEN GALLERY page (albums, galleries, singlepics, slideshows, widgets etc. all count as GALLERY pages as they contain GALLERY content.

Optimizer Basic’s key feature is to improve your site’s page load speed by preventing NextGEN’s scripts and stylesheets from loading on NON-GALLERY pages (ie. all pages WITHOUT NextGEN galleries, widgets, related thumbnails, or attach-to-post attachments). Is this aspect not working for you?

If you’d like to Optimize your GALLERY pages, you can additionally use the 12 new Advanced options on Optimizer’s settings page for fine-grained control of the scripts and stylesheets that load on those pages. BUT, you’ll need to set them individually under the “Advanced options” text link (checking your site as you go), and only after reading the documentation.

Remember, GALLERY pages do require some core scripts and stylesheets to retain their styling and functionality. Many are unnecessary, and may relate to features you’re not using, but you can’t just remove everything.

To see exactly what’s removed with each of Optimizer’s advanced options for NextGEN v2.0.xx, please see the following documentation…

    https://www.nextgengalleryoptimizer.com/optimization-flowcharts/nextgen-gallery-v2/
    https://www.nextgengalleryoptimizer.com/docs/configuration/nextgen-gallery-v2/

I hope this helps clear things up, and do let me know how you go.

    Cheers,
    Mark.

    Hi @markor91,

I just wanted to let you know I’ve just released Optimizer v2.1, which includes (amongst many other things) an extensive rewording of plugin descriptions and documentation for greater clarity.

This was motivated largely by your review here, so if you have the chance, it would be great if you’d check it out. Any kind of feedback would be much appreciated.

    Kind regards,
    Mark.
