    User still cannot select the suggestion as the suggestion does not pop up

    I’m sorry your configuration is not working with the plugin, it happens unfortunately. Reason can be your theme or another plugin.

    I confirm with a fresh WordPress 4.1.1 / BuddyPress 2.2.1 and any WordPress default theme it’s working. Have you tried such a config ?
