Yes and almost

If this review was only for the responsiveness of the support team, I’d give them 5 stars instantly. They’ve been great. And the plug is mostly great. However, as a WP user who has gone through a few video galleries trying to find one that really met all my needs, I can say there are a few things this plugin doesn’t do that are commonly found in other galleries.
First, the good. There are 5 different modes of display from which to choose and all have easy to use css controls to make adjustments to size and color and such, all without having to go into the code. I am comfortable in code, but I do love the move in plugins toward this simple method of css manipulation.
Creating galleries is simple and there’s a drag and drop interface for the videos in a gallery for easy reordering. The 5 gallery modes all have great looks to them and give you nice options to vary the way video is used on your site.
There is nothing complex about this gallery system and, if it weren’t for a few lacking options, it would easily get those full five stars.
There are three things missing from the plugin that I’ve found common in other galleries. Huge-IT does say they’re continually looking to improve the plugin, so perhaps these things will be coming down the pike.
1) Adding a video is done by pasting a link into a URL box. However, if you want the title and description in their respective boxes, you’ll have to copy and paste them. This compares to several video gallery plugins that bring that data across at the same time the video thumbnail is brought. If you’ve got a significant number of galleries with a number of videos, this can be tedious. Not the end of the world, but it does add quite a bit of time if you’re doing it all at one time.
2) This plugin doesn’t offer any interface allowing you to add the Youtube options like “&rel=0”. The support team actually logged into my system and manually added that capability. With so many plugins adding a great number of those options to their admin, I’d say it’s pretty close to a standard now, and it is conspicuously missing here.
3) There are 5 nice gallery modes currently, but a thumbnail single row scroller is missing. To have a large number of videos in one gallery is going to require several rows to display them (or you can scroll them one at a time). To have a thumbnail scroller able to hold 8-10 videos, display a smaller number (e.g. 4) in the content, with forward and back scroll buttons would be a welcome addition. If you do have that large number of videos, you’ll either have them displayed over several rows or have to axe a number of them until you get to what fits in your content width.
That said, I’m still happy with my purchase of the pro level for now, but I will be on the lookout for those options to make it into the plugin at some point.
