    Hi there,

While i do appreciate the comment, this plugin does not claim any association with SEO.

I don’t think this review is fair since it’s judging the plugin on something that it doesn’t claim to do.

I will definitely add support for the redirect type in the future updates, and I urge you to re-consider the review as it doesn’t apply at this time.

    Thanks

When you make a construction mode plugin, it should be step one to make sure you’re sending the correct headers. If you don’t, then you not only destroy SEO but you also risk permanently rendering your site dead in the eyes of major websites.

I will not take back my review unless it it fixed. You can’t make a plugin that risks destroying peoples website and then say you don’t deserve a bad review.

can you explain your issue ?

this plugin doesn’t do any redirection, so i am not sure where you are seeing the 301 PERMANENTLY MOVED. No redirection is done, all pages still indexed because they still exist.

This plugin is usually used when someone is building a new site. So odds are there is no sitemap or any site indexing at that point.

If a site admin activates this plugin on a site that’s already been live for a while, it wont affect the links because they can be still reached. What changes is the content of the page only.

based on your description of the issue, i wonder if there’s a mix up with another plugin ?

@markman641 could you please reply and remove your comment, i saw you posted the same comment on another “under construction” plugin, so i assume that you found the one that you have issues with. negative reviews hurt the plugin a lot and I would appreciate it if you fix this one. And based on your description of the error, I am certain that this error doesn’t exist with my plugin.

Thank you for taking the time

Yes, this error exists with your plugin. Turn on the under construction page and check the header response with something like https://web-sniffer.net/. If it has a 301 permanently moved header, that is very bad. If it has 200 ok that is also bad because search engine crawlers will crawl the page when you don’t want it to. it should send a 503 temporarily moved header.
