Great Home page but offers no support to child pages

I found this free theme to be great for creating a fresh home page, but that is it. When creating a child page (accessing via the menus) this theme offers no control on the child pages and in my case I got some weird Category and Archive stuff showing on the right hand side of every child page I created. When I contacted the authors I was told that I can clear this via the Widget menu page, but on the widgets on the Widget menu page cannot be cleared (and in any case there weren’t Archive or Category widgets present).

So this theme is only great if all you want is a one page site. If you need more then don’t waste you time with this theme until the authors corrects this fundamental issue with the child pages.
