• Hey all,
I’ve asked around to other WP users and I haven’t really got a solid answer of yes or no.

Our site has a news section and I am bringing a bunch of new people on board to start writing news posts for it. Since they are new, I don’t want them using the admin log-in due to the obvious reason that they would have access to all the content on the site.
I would like to create a News log-in on my WP so when they get in the only option they see is to write a new post for news.

Is this a possibility? If not, does anyone have any other suggestions to help solve this?

Sorry if this has been posted somewhere else. I’m at work and don’t have much time to search.

  • Hiya,
This isn’t a big deal. There are several ‘levels’ of registration for wordpress: subscriber, contributor, author, editor, admin. I believe that is from least amount of abilities to most abilities. You (admin) can set these levels in the Users tab.

This is also where you can add new users but if you’re going to have several, you may want to enable registration. In your dashboard, under General settings, you can select “anyone can register” and then users will create their accounts but you still have ultimate control.

You can find more information about those roles here

    I hope that helps
