I tried 8 lazy load plugins and a3 was the only one that met my needs. Benefits of a3:
– configurable – in particular: on/off, load before in viewport, type of content to lazy load
– support for filter allowing it to work with custom post types (i.e., filters more than just the content)
– additional hooks for further customization
– noscript support
– no plugin conflicts
– actively supported
Each of the other 7 lazy load plugins I tried had issues with one or more of those items listed.

I now have super fast page load times. ONLY images in the viewport are loaded, no extras from widgets, iframes, etc.
