don't do 12 – 25 update!

i’ve never had any issues before, but i did todays update and after spending 2.5 hours on a support chat, finally had to use a backup of my site (thankfully only from last night).
after installing the update, i had a 500 server error code and my host tried to fix it for hours before we decided the only option was the backup!
