Shiny on the outside

  • Looks nice if what you see exactly suits your purpose. Free theme is almost uncustomizable and poorly documented, almost no explanations given for items on the theme settings page. Half the time you change a setting, save and look on the front end what happens. ?? All the documentation on their website is about premium version.

    No way to add Google Analytics tracking code, this ability is only offered to premium subscribers. I mean, seriously? No Google Analytics?

    Generally leaves a sense of a huge messy thing which doesn’t know where its appendages are. Maybe that’s just a feeling I get because of a hideous localization and lack of notes explaining settings, but I can’t get rid of it.

    And frankly, I wouldn’t buy from people who go out of their way to make it difficult to impossible for you to make customizations.

    Sorry to hear you didn’t enjoy the theme. With all the options I’m sorry you didn’t find it very customizable. I’ll have to think through ways to make it clearer…

    Just to clarify why google analytics isn’t built in. This is not because we wanted it that way. It is only because of the www.ads-software.com theme review team. They don’t allow themes to have a google analytics box because it is considered plugin territory. We were not allowed to add it to the free theme here.

    I can recommend several free plugins that add this though if you would like.

    Sorry you felt like the localization was hideous. Is there a specific language you are referring too? Because this is a free theme all translations have been done by users.

    The last point is the most disappointing to me. I try so hard to make this theme easy to customize. I’ve spent a lot of time working to make the theme options full of great tools to customize and with the custom css box I really hoped to make even css changes simple. I would love your feedback on this if there are things you felt like were blocking you from customizing your site.
