• I logged out of my wordpress blog admin and can’t log back in. When I put in my email address to get a new password it said email address not recognized. I can log into forum but not blog. What can I do to access my blog? I initially had a problem with my blogs as you couldn’t post a comment on my posts. Someone answered that(thank you) but can’t check to see if I can fix problem in admin. My blog is internetmarketingwithjoe.com.

  • Hello, there!

    I’m going to go out on a limb and say that I think you are hosted with GoDaddy. What you need to do is get into your sql database and reset your admin password. It would be great of you had access to phpMyAdmin, but I can’t tell if you do. Here is a link (sticky), that may assist you in finding an option that will work for you.

    My domain is with godaddy but I am hosted with hostgator. They have wordpress with their cpanel but I uploaded wordpress on my own to my site as instructed by someone. This is kind of over my head. I went to your link and then downloaded phpadmin but don’t have a clue on how to access sql database and change password.

    don’t have a clue on how to access sql database and change password.

    I’m making a broad range of assumptions with this, but if you have cpanel with hostgator, you should probably already have access to phpMyAdmin. Log into your cpanel, select MySql databases, scroll down to the bottom of the page and find this;

    phpMyAdmin

    “You can use phpMyAdmin to administer your MySQL databases in a web based environment”.

    Click on phpmyadmin and then use the instructions from the link I gave you to fix your issue. You need to spend some time and find out what your hosting service has made available to you, what it’s for and how to use it.

    Thanks for your help Clayton. After five hours I think I got it.

    I’m glad you got it sorted out!
