Firstly, and most importantly, I 100% Agree with you. Having so many bugs in a product is unacceptable. However this is not a product. I don’t get paid for it. In fact I have lost quite a lot of cash building it. Let me explain…

I created this plugin to solve something that was not possible with other form builders. I decided to give it away as a free plugin because I hoped that, just maybe, it would help someone else.

Now I year later there are over 10 000 sites using it. And I’m like.. seriously!?

That’s 10 000 form configurations I could never have thought of, or even be able to test. Forget the fact that 10 000 people decided to actually use a plugin created by a guy, in a village, in the middle of South Africa. That’s right up there with investing in craft Vodka from some remote polish community.

But, here I am a few months later, with 10 000 (or so) sites using it and some of them are having problems. And now it’s my fault.

Since I made this free, I get no income at all from it. In order to eat and feed my 2 wonderful kids, I need to work on other peoples problems, for at least 8 hours a day, at “competitive” rates.
In-between fixing bugs for this free plugin that will probably never give me any personal gain.

But, you know what? I really enjoy doing it.
Forget the financial gain, working on this actually makes me feel like I’m helping someone. Some people go to war-torn areas to help kids, others to feed the hungry in darkest Africa. I make free plugins.
Ye I know, ridiculous, but it’s the best I can afford ok?

Anyway, I really don’t expect anyone to use it. And I am shocked that people do, and some people actually like it ( which is weird, I know ). And I really try to help as many as I can. However, in the past, I have spent more time fixing someone’s problem than I could afford to. And the result was falling deeper into debt; since I kind of needed to do paying work in that time. Regardless, both situations were solved ( which is great!, But we also stopped free support because of it. Of which I’m also sorry ).

Unfortunately, some people get very pushy and think their problem is the whole reason I created this.( not referring to you, other people have been way more pushy ) And that I, for some reason, have a responsibility to provide a commercial quality product for free, because..you know reasons. Else I’m a terrible human being that makes free, crap software, while rolling in imaginary piles of cash. (one day!)

I don’t know why I keep doing this, but I know that I will continue to do so, since it’s a really cool plugin and I get a kick out of every single review someone posts. Good or Bad. Because it means that someone took the time to review something made by a nobody.
And, just maybe, I helped them solve something they struggled with. It’s the little things.

That kinda makes me feel important. Regardless if it makes me money or not.

So really, truly, thank you for trying out my plugin. I’m really sorry it didn’t work out like the big-boys. But I am trying. And maybe in the future or update, I’ll actually make something that will help you.

Please give Ninja Forms ( they are brilliant BTW ) or even Gravity Forms ( not so brilliant, but cool ) a try and I really hope you get sorted.

I really appreciate you taking the time to review this. And the fact that you tried it for a month, shows that you, at least, saw merit in my work. And that makes you awesome!

    Thank you.

No worries. I’m gonna use it and modify the configs and Jscripts to make it work. I can’t accept 1 month waste to go to other plugin. The only reason why I gave to 1 star to this plugin is because I have send and e-mail to JOSH about my issues and he send me to “support license ” whatever thing that wasn’t ok. Support license should be for peoples that don’t know how to use it … not for troubleshooting Caldera bugs… we are not paying for bugs. (I’m not paying at all, but to be honest when I was creating my form I was thinking ” wow this is very good .. best form ever ever ever, if is gonna do the job i’m gonna buy this form if there is a premium one. No idea if there is or not. And guess what? Yes it is doing the job… i made a very very complicated form with arround 20 conditions 60 fields 3 redirect processors, but… too slow…. and a lot of bugs, i manage to fix all of them).I’m not an expert on JScript but because there is mess in your code , caldera form works slow. Anyway I’m gonna change 1 star to 5. It wasn’t fair from my side! You are 100% right on your reply. Sry

You didn’t have to change your rating. I was truly thankful for your review. however it’s much appreciated!

For bugs, report them at https://github.com/Desertsnowman/Caldera-Forms/issues That’s the right place to do so. And if you solve some issues in the javascript, please think about contributing them back to the project.

    Many thanks,
