• Once again, we have a greedy developer who is using the WordPress infrastructure to gouge users. This plugin is worthless. What kind of a knucklehead makes a plugin for Facebook feeds that shows text only? That is nonsense. Had the developer created a useful product, I would have no problem upgrading to pro. Paying money helps support development, I get that. But developers have to give something of value if they expect to hook us users in. Not only am I NOT going to pay for the PRO upgrade, I am going to send this developer an invoice for my time for wasting 30 minutes to install and configure this useless plugin.

    Hey baraccuda,

Thanks for your feedback! I was actually wondering what kind of knucklehead installs a plugin without reading the plugin description, but it looks like you just answered that question for me ??

Putting your insults aside, I’m sure you understand that in order to support, maintain, and update a completely free plugin it requires both time and cost. In order to keep this free plugin going we have to offer a Pro version. If there is no incentive for users to upgrade then no one purchases the Pro version and the plugin dies, as I’m pretty sure my family wouldn’t allow me to spend all of my time working on a plugin for free, and I also don’t think our support team won’t work for free either unfortunately.

I understand that this plugin isn’t going to meet everyone’s needs, but there are a lot of people who use this free version and find it very useful. As we state in the description; the posts don’t contain images or videos, but what you do get is the ability to display an unlimited number of feeds which can be completely customized from head to toe, a plugin that is robust, up to date, and well supported by competent and quick support staff, along with being completely responsive, translatable, with built in caching, and a load of other settings and options, all for free. I’d argue that the plugin provides a whole load of value, considering you paid $0 for it ??

I think the review posted immediately after yours pretty much sums it up.

    Thanks again for your feedback!

Thanks for your response. Yes, you are right, it does say that images, etc. would need your pro version. Sorry I did not read to the very bottom of the description, where it says that – as sort of a disclaimer.

What I did read, located near the top of the page, was:

“Display feeds from multiple different Facebook pages/groups and use the shortcode to embed them into a page, post or widget anywhere on your site.”

You see, MY Facebook feed has images. Doesn’t yours? So, again I say again, what kind of a knucklehead would create a Facebook feed widget that doesn’t really display the feed properly?

Obviously, you are capable of including that feature in the plugin, it is available in the Pro version. Maybe it should be included in the free version, or what good is the plugin?

There are other features that can be used as enticement for a paid version. More sophisticated features, such as multiple layout options, post filtering by type or #hashtag/string, etc.

And having a friend post a glowing review right after mine is unimpressive, taints the review process and is similar to the behavior shown by putting a disclaimer at the bottom of the description page. Makes me wonder if all those 5-star reviews are real or just more buddies.

And it seems I am not the only person who feels this way, as indicated in numerous other reviews. In fact, one person referred to your free version as a trial version and suggested it be removed from the repository.

I have been using WordPress since Matt created it and I am growing weary of the increasing number of plugin developers who short-thrift their free version (which is the whole concept of WordPress) and create plugins that are useless unless one buys the Pro version.

Oh, and finally, you brag about your customer support. Let me give you some advice about that… the “customer” is always right, especially when you are trying to convert free users to customers.
