The Adverts plugin rocks, plain and simple. It can be fully customized to meet just about any niche; my own website is adult-oriented and with the help of the developer I have been able to tailor this plugin to sell and list male escort ads. With the expansions available this plugin becomes SUPER powerful, yet it has a simplicity that I love as well. Although the customization does require some knowledge of PHP, Greg (the developer) is very active in the support forum and was more than helpful in delivering custom PHP code for my needs.
