• I’ve been blogging (mostly about travel) for 10+ years and stupidly started with a blog for each trip or stage of my life. The idea of consolidating my blogs into my main one (raecrothers.ca/blog) is very daunting and would be really time consuming. I thought of creating an index on one page that would link to my myriads of blogs that would work something like Categories with subcategories. Eg.

North America –> Mexico –> Yucatan –> Merida –> Restaurants
North American –> Canada –> Yukon –> Dawson City –> Museums
Europe –> Bulgaria –> Sofia –> Walking Tours

The point for all of this is that I get new readers all the time who want to go back and read about my adventures in such and such a place or I want to more easily compile a list of all the different sushi restaurants I’ve been to or I want to be able at nearly a glance to remember what date I was in a certain area.

I started to do it as just a regular page, manually linking to all my posts, but I have so many destinations and thousands of posts that it’s really unwieldy and not particularly user friendly. At this point, all I can see to do is export and import of all those older blogs to my raecrothers.ca/blog and get to work categorizing, but I’m wondering if someone can envision a better way? I don’t mind doing the data entry; it’s the reuploading photos that’s tedious to me. Perhaps someone has designed a page template that does something similar?

Any input would be appreciated. I’m reasonably WP savvy.

    Thanks,

    Rae

  • Take a look at the FeedWordPress plugin. You configure your prime blog to subscribe to the RSS feeds of your other multiple blogs. It will pull them in and assign them to categories you choose, among other things.
