Google gives you two options: meta tags or file upload. If you don’t know how to edit your meta tags, choose the latter.

    Hello Everybody,

I am sure many blogers are facing the same problem on ” How to verify your wordpress blog” Please don’t tell the same instructions which are written on Google webmaster tools.

I host my blog and I am really confused on the methods which are mentioned on google wbmaster tools- meta method and html link.

If possible please tell me the steps on how to upload the code. And dont use any technical jargon s am not a technical person.

    1. Go hire somebody that is a technical person.
    2. Pay them to do it.

Seriously, if you do not know how to upload a file to your own website, and cannot figure it out yourself, then really you should not be operating a website. I suggest using a service instead, like https://wordpress.com, or Blogger, or any of a dozen other services where you don’t have to do “technical” things.

    Thanks for your reply.

First of all, I am a new blogger and you have to start from somewhere. And forums are formed to seek help from those people who can share their knowledge about certain issues. Second of all, I appreciate that you have taken your time to reply to my message BUT may be you were not willing to explain.

I am hosting my own website and slowly and gradually I am exploring new things about blogging. I have uploaded the code successfully on my blogspot but on wordpress I am encountering problems (getting some error – and I guess I am not the only one in the whole world who is getting the error ??

Hey Dude thanks and take care. Happy Blogging
And I will find out how to do it – Hiring someone to do it is an easy job – I prefer exploring things on my own. Was here for just a suggestion** not a favor kinds ??

Hello, I verified my blog today. It was vey simple once I understood what to do. I did it once with the metatag option and this did not work so I tried the the HTML option and worked OK.

These are the steps to take:

    1. Get HTML code name from Google.
    2. Open up a blank text file. Don′t write anyhting on it.
    3. Save it to desktop. When you give the name to the file copy and paste the HTML code name given to you by Google.
    4. The result should be a file with your windows explorer icon (if you use explorer)
    5. Open up your ftp client and go to your public_html file of your main domain.
    6. Upload the HTML file to this folder.
    7. Now you should be able to add on your browser “https://yourdomain/googlecodename” and press enter as if looking for that URL and get a “Uups, page no found!” but still be able to see your domain and the code together on the browser.
    8. Go back to Google Webmasters Tools and clic on the “verify” button.
    9. This is all I did and it worked just fine.

    Hope it helps.
