• Once upon a time, the WordPress version was printed at the bottom of the screen in the Admin area.

Now, it appears to say just “Get WordPress 2.6” instead of “WordPress 2.5.1”.

I administer a dozen or so sites, some very lightly used, so they’re not all kept up to rev. [Mainly because I’ve had a couple of bad experiences with upgrades breaking plugins and I don’t always have time “right now” to track down all those issues. And, again these are very lightly used.]

I can read the “Get WordPress 2.6” at the top of the screen. I’d really like an easy way to find the current version (so I can estimate the level of difficulty of the upgrade). Could that be added to the default footer on the Dashboard at least?

Just a note though — you folks are doing a FABULOUS job at taking the pain out of the upgrade to WordPress itself. Thanks so much!

Apologies if this has already changed for 2.6 (but since even if I install it, it’ll be awhile before I can tell if it’s changed, I thought I’d post).
