• This crap screwed up my system… Stay away. The only thing this is, is an AUTO-MATIC-FUDGE-UP

If you don’t mind reinstalling your WP and database (hopefully that you backed up) then try this out. Also locked me out..

  • psthi… I should have listened to you…
    USE AT OWN RISK!
Wasted an hour trying to find out why it said that it successfully installed when it didn’t (All I got was a Maintenance Mode message on the home page) Yes, I tried renaming the index.php file as per the FAQ instructions (No, didn’t work).
Eventually just gave up and reinstalled my backup files.

If it aint broke, don’t fix it.

    AAARRRRGGGG….
Now I can’t login to my Admin. All I get is a white page with nothing!!
My website is up and running but I can’t log in to manage anything.
It accepts the login and password then goes nowhere… nada… nothingness.
Not happy! Anyone have the same problem and know how to fix?

Same problem. Can′t log in anymore. Doesn′t process password. Requesting new password doesn′t solve the problem.

We′ll upload WP once more and see if it works once more. If anyone has a solution…

This worked perfectly for me. I’ve been dreading upgrading so delayed for months, but this took just me just 5 minutes, and I followed instructions exactly. Thank you so much…

I got a fatal error when trying to install the plugin on WP 2.5.1. Which after reading all these comments telling tales of disaster I feel fortunate that I didn’t get to go further and screw up my system. I don’t understand how it has such a high star rating.

Last friday I upgraded 5 installations in about 20 minutes. Yes, it’s lame to use a plugin like this, but WP has a built-in auto-upgrade too, but that doesn’t work for me for some reason. Manual upgrade is safer, but when the plugin does what it promises, it’s much faster and easier AND it makes backups in the process. I love the plugin.

    Worked fine from 2.5, 2.5.1 to 2.6

WP Automatic Upgrade worked fine for many installs and messed up a couple. All depends on many variables like server configuration, deactivating plugins or not, etc. In the end, what matters most are your SQL and file backups (I also export XML all) before upgrading manually or automatically. That way, you can re-install/upgrade everything with clean database in 15 minutes or less if something goes wrong esp with the automatic upgrade.

No problems at all for me. Went from 2.6 to 2.61.

Yeah. Strange no problems for me either.. What server are you using?

    No problems here.

I’m gonna give this a try, it’s a relatively knew site I’ve built so I’ll only lose two days work. If I was charging for two days it would be a lot of money lost, but as it’s for my own site…. I love a challenge. Watch this space!

Plugin could not be activated because it triggered a fatal error.

    ooops!

Hasn’t brought my site down though…
