Duplicating product doesn’t pass over SKU

  • Hello. We just updated to WooCommerce 2.6.4. When we duplicate products, information is duplicated into the new product except for the SKU. The SKU field in the new product is blank. How can we fix this?

  • The SKU has to be unique

    SKU – Stock keep unit (SKU) tracks products. Must be unique and should be formatted so it does not match any post IDs. For example, post IDs are numbers so a SKU could be WS01. That could stand for WooShirt 01.

    Oh I see. Our workflow was to duplicate then change the SKU of the new product. Before the update, I guess users could duplicate the product and -not- change the SKU. After the update, the SKU doesn’t duplicate to keep from users creating products with the same SKU. Am I understanding that correctly?
