• I’m in the process of setting up a WordPress blog and I’m finding it much more complicated than I expected.

    The first question I have is about cPanel – my web host (Fasthosts) does not offer cPanel as a service on their shared hosting servers.

    Do I need to have cPanel to install WordPress?

  • no you don’t need cPanel
    but you need these and I suggest you contact your host and ask if they support:
    * PHP 4.3 or greater
    * MySQL 4.0 or greater
    * The mod_rewrite Apache module
