• Hi there,

Uploading of TIFF files as attachments to bbPress topics/replies results in them being output as a linked image of 1px x 1px – but it displays on the page as a “missing” image of varying different sizes. It is clickable and does link to the correct image which is then downloaded by my browser rather than shown.

Firstly – is this standard that TIFFs are not shown inline or shown by the browser when clicking the link to the resource?

Secondly – if that is normal/acceptable – how can we make it so that the GD bbPress Attachments plugin outputs the link for TIFF in the same way it would for a DOC or PDF – e.g. a plain text link rather than an img?

    Many Thanks

    David

    Hi,

This is the issue with WordPress because it recognizes TIFF as an image, but most browsers can’t display TIFF.

Yup – I’ve worked out that browsers don’t like Tiff!

Is there any way for you to put a setting in to tell your attachments plugin to output a simple link for TIFFs? Could you give me any pointers how I might ‘hack’ that in for the meantime.

    Thanks

WordPress is recognizing TIFF as an image, and at this point, I don’t know what needs to be done here. I have added this to the list to investigate for the next version.
