2.6 permalink issues – see posts now, but not cat pages

  • Hi,
    I had the 2.6 permalink issue mentioned in the sticky, and added names to the cat and tag fields as instructed. That did fix the 404 error for posts problem, but now my category pages for posts do not work (404 error) Changed themes, same problem. Pages still OK.

    Am stuck with using index.php in middle of URLs on a Microsoft server.

    I’m not entirely confident in my ability to edit the wp-files with new fixes for 2.6.1 — any other solution, or do I need to try those?

  • I’m having a problem viewing my posts since I upgraded. I get the standard “Sorry, but you are looking for something that isn’t here.” message instead of the post. It seems like you fixed this – may I ask how?

    This fixed the post problem, but it appears to have busted the categories page now, which was working before this fix.

    PS – Sorry my original message was posted twice – My finger must have slipped on the mouse or something. I’d delete the dup message but I don’t see how to do that.
