I have been troubleshooting this for the past week or so, and I’m sadly finally realizing it is this plugin affecting the MySQL “/usr/libexec/mysqld” process which is the culprit of incredibly high CPU utilization (average 200-500% of CPU usage seen when running “top -cM”).

I have the Google reCAPTCHA setup properly, and I have tried enabling/disabling WP-SpamShield Anti-Spam to see if that would help, but this plugin is still a major performance hog.

As soon as I disable this plugin, CPU util for /usr/libexec/mysqld goes back down to 40-60% and even less sometimes…

Anybody have any idea how to solve for this?
