500 Internal Server on plugins

    Hi,

    I wanted to update my wordpress to the latest version when an internal error accured. I don’t know if this was cause by one of the plugins..

    here is the error

    The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.

    Please contact the server administrator, [email protected] and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error.

    More information about this error may be available in the server error log.

    Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

    Apache/2.2.8 (Unix) mod_ssl/2.2.8 OpenSSL/0.9.7a mod_auth_passthrough/2.1 mod_bwlimited/1.4 FrontPage/5.0.2.2635 Server at ram-jtmparis.com Port 80

    I don’t know where to find the error or how to edit it.Pls help..

  • i have the same problem on my WP Wall plugin, i cant post anything.. anyone care to help?? :S

    This is likely related to something you have in the .htaccess file, possibly a password protected directory or something similar. Check the folders in which your wordpress is installed in, as well as the wp-content folder and the plugins folder and try temporarily renaming your .htaccess file to see if it fixes something. If it doesn’t, rename your plugin folder. If that fixes it, then you know there was a problem with a plugin, after that you can try disabling plugins through trial and error until you figure out which plugin(s) are causing the problems.

    I have also had this problem (4 times since July 10) Now when it happens I know to look in my htaccess file and remove any unwanted code. However, each time, the code is slightly different and I am wondering how it gets there!

    I had recently added a few new plug ins (wp super cache and simple press forum) SPF has said there is nothing with that plug in that should affect htaccess so I disabled wp super cache for now. We’ll see if it happens again, and I would definitely like to reeactivate that plug in so the site isn’t so slow.

    This problem definitely related to wordpress… does anyone have any ideas on why this might be happening or how i can stop it from happening?
