White screen after activation

    Maintenance Mode installed without any errors, however when I activated it all that happened when users got when they came to my site was a blank white screen.
    When I deactivated the plug-in, the site went back to its normal operation.
    I deactivated the few plug-ins that are installed and still did not work.
    The site is a fresh install. I needed the maintenance mode plug in so my users knew that I was down while I was building the site up.
    Any help is greatly appreciated.

    The default font color was set to white. This made the page look like it was blank. If you have the plugin already installed, change the message color from white to another color by using the color picker.

    The plugin has been changed to default to black for the message color on new installs.
